What you'll be doing
- This position is responsible to circulate cases as it relates to unit scope of care. Understand principles of aseptic technique and requirements for scrubbing cases as it relates to unit scope of care. Exercise sound judgement and decision making skills on behalf of the patient, self and peers. Pursue own professional growth through continuing education and in services. Communicate effectively with staff, peers, sr. leader, external and internal customers. Organize work to complete duties effectively and efficiently. Serve as a professional member of the or team. Demonstrate competency in providing patient and family education. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures; supports the mission of the hospital. Perform other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- The candidate must have a minimum of 1 year hospital experience or 2 years including a perioperative internship. Current Virginia license, completion of the perioperative course or previous experience as a perioperative O. R. Nurse is required. Current certification as a BLS healthcare provider is required.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate from accredited school of nursing is required and B. S. N. Degree or currently enrolled in B. S. N. Program is preferred.
