What you'll be doing

Candidate will work under the direction of senior project managers and will be responsible for performing field work; traveling to project sites, including field locations affected by hurricane sandy, to conduct environmental site assessments and site investigations. Future assignments could include, but are not limited to conducting phase I environmental site assessments; recognition of soil profile characteristics; identification of contaminant plumes in groundwater; determination of impacted soil characteristics; characterization and remediation of residential, commercial and industrial property; conducting environmental compliance audits; and prepare environmental permits for various types of projects. The candidate may gradually assume more project responsibility (budgets, client contact, negotiations with regulatory agencies) and eventually develop skills to become a project manager on large, complex work assignments. What your background should be

Minimum 3 years of related experience is required. Must understand the environmental assessment process. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to clearly communicate with client, field staff and contractors. Must have knowledge of how various environmental media is impacted by external factors and environmental regulations. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Willingness to work on various assignments within the NJ area and provide a vehicle for transportation to work sites. Valid driving license.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in environmental science, chemistry, geology, engineering or related field.
