What you'll be doing

Supervises and provides daily direction to claims processors including training and development, policies, procedures, and work production quantity and quality. Reviews and resolves service issues not resolvable by subordinates. Works closely with the other medicare supplement supervisors and the claims manager. Evaluates performance indicators, both financial and operational, and direct changes to rectify problems and ensure quality service. Supervises and motivates team, schedules staff for appropriate coverage, tracks and approves pto, assures adherence to departmental policy and procedures and compliance guidelines. Monitors and develops new staff. Manages conflict among employees, providers, and/or customers. Solves problems using sound business judgment and communicate both written and oral information clearly and professionally. Develops and produces reports. Maintains positive working relationships and contributes as an effective team member. Oversees internal controls to ensures accuracy, timeliness and quality of work. Makes recommendations to improve processes and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Five or more years health insurance industry experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task, adjusts quickly to changing priorities, and positively responds to change. Strong data entry skills, detailed-oriented, and proficient with word, excel, and access.

Required Schooling / Training

Associate degree or equivalent.
