What you'll be doing

The associate director of information technology will be responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and performance management. The candidate will be also responsible for monitoring and reporting on an estate of projects via management dashboards. To include the status of all projects, summary of risks and costs versus plan etc. S/he is responsible, working with methodology team to define a consistent monitoring program that will ensure successful delivery of projects and continuous of improvement of project management skills. Drive accurate pipeline demand forecasts and align sourcing strategies to optimize ability to deliver within financial constraints. Work with the resource managers on sourcing strategies and management of external resource providers across all the estate of projects. In addition, responsible for identifying resource deployment issues that would impact the efficient delivery of projects and escalate for resolution. Promote continuous improvement to the overall project/program management process. Define and implement project/program holistic quality approach measurements and continuous improvements. Define, implement, and measure raid standards. Implement project/program change control processes and procedures. Govern planning standards within a project or program or department/sub function. Drive program internal and external communications. Foster collaborative ways of working with wider teams including it services methods whilst challenging status. Identify and resolve common problems and potential risk/issues across programs and the company. Conduct post project reviews, lessons learned, and performance score cards, and implement improvements identified. Contribute actively to overall methodology improvements. Identify and measure performance indicators of team members, and service providers, provide direction and guidance for standard estimating techniques, and consolidate program budgets and variance tracking, implementing recovery actions. The incumbent will be accountable for assisting with business case development & justification; facilitating the benefits plan; measuring/tracking benefit return within the lifecycle of the program. Define and drive recovery action plans as appropriate.

What your background should be

Successful candidate should have 7 to 10 years of experience in a corporate it environment. S/he should have 5 to 10 years of experience in pmo or program/project management on projects over $2m. The incumbent should have 2 to 5 years of experience on projects that geographically dispersed. The applicant with a relevant program/project management qualification (e.g. Prince practioner, pmp) preferred. This position with financial management qualification and lean six-sigma certificate is advantageous. Familiarity with itil v2 or 3 is advantageous. The candidate should have the ability to balance both the science of how to perform program/project management and the art of program/project management, which is learned through experience and skill training/application.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
