What you'll be doing

Under the direction of the chief of maintenance, the crew chief is responsible for the servicing, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on company aircraft and ground support equipment in accordance with the applicable faa regulations, manufacturer directives, and department policy. S/he requires active participation in the department safety program and involvement in obtaining the department bi-annual certification through is-bao (international standard business aircraft operations). S/he assures that aircraft are mechanically ready for flight. The incumbent performs pre-flight inspection prior to trip departure, and post-flight inspection and required maintenance upon aircraft return from a trip. S/he performs engine runs and taxi operations, as required. Maintains appropriate records for work performed on aircraft. S/he maintains technical library and computer-based aircraft maintenance systems as directed by the chief of maintenance. Assists in maintaining spare parts inventory, including ordering, shipping and receiving. Identifies and orders aircraft parts as required. S/he ensures that all test equipment is calibrated and properly maintained. Assists in maintaining ground support equipments, shop equipment, and hangar environment. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining highest level of safety and professionalism at all times. Increases knowledge and skill base through recurrent training and continuing education. If assigned flight engineer duties on domestic or international trips responsible for pre/post-flight inspections, supervising or performing any servicing or maintenance, acts as passenger service provider, and safety coordinator. The applicant may fly on company aircraft as required, or accompany aircraft to contract maintenance facilities. S/he may be asked to oversee the work performed and that the work accomplished is properly documented by the contract facility. S/he completes collateral duties as assigned by chief of maintenance or the director, or on a volunteer basis.

What your background should be

Qualified candidate should have minimum five years of practical experience as an airframe and power plant technician. S/he should have minimum 2 years of working experience on same type of equipment operated by the company, at least 1 year of working experience as a maintenance technician in a corporate flight department, or for an airline. The applicant should have faa airframe and power plant technician license (a&p). Inspection authorization (ia) preferred. Federal communications commission (fcc) avionics technician license is desirable. This job requires training in evacuation procedures, medical aid, and passenger service. Variability of aircraft schedules requires ability to work flexible hours, day, or night.

Required Schooling / Training

Graduation or associate degree from a federal aviation administration (FAA) accredited airframe and power plant technician school, and bachelor degree is preferred.
