What you'll be doing

The systems engineering senior manager plans and executes highly complex engineering activities. Principal contributor to systems engineering activities which include any of the following: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, system integration, system & op. Performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and resolution. S/he supports business development and proposal activities. The candidate provides solutions to extremely complex problems of diverse scope that may arise in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner. Identifies choke points and provides alternative solutions to customer. S/he maintains a set of problem solving methods and modeling/simulation tools that support solving problems. Plans and conducts work in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard systems design engineering practices. S/he provides high level of technical and managerial recommendations to the program on critical decisions and to the company on engineering processes. S/he interacts daily with supervisors and technical staff in all project specialties. Directly interactions with client counterparts on project matters within area of responsibility. Provides systems engineering guidance to technical staff and provides assistance and advice to personnel where technical and systems engineering problems exist or are developing. Reviews program acquisition documentation and conducts program assessments to identify weaknesses, identify corrective actions, and prepares action plans for continuous improvement in designated areas. Exercises full responsibility for formulating and influencing system engineering/integration, product development, product assurance/test, and production. Works under the broad objectives and guidance set by higher authority and have extensive input and influence in development of the guiding policies, philosophies, and objectives of operations. The incumbent performs other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

The applicant with 10 years of overall engineering or system engineering experience required. Working knowledge in iso 9000, iso 9001, and iso 15288 is required. Must have the ability to identify process and work flow improvements. S/he must possess expertise in determining short-term, mid-term, and long-term impacts of new concepts, new systems, and components as relate to military requirements. The candidate should have mastery of the application of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluation methods or techniques to identify and advise on problems, programs, and initiatives involving the automotive sciences.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor of science in an engineering field is required. Master degree is a distinct advantage.
