What you'll be doing

The food runner role is responsible to maintain a clean, safe, and organized working area. The candidate will deliver/run food from kitchen out to the appropriate tables and seat numbers in restaurant without auctioning off plates. Deliver appetizers, entrees, and desserts. S/he will communicate with other runners for help to carry plates to complete a table, and communicate with expeditor to ensure the tables go out correctly. Check supplies in counter area and restock items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift. Assist in other areas of the operation as needed. Communicate with server or busboy for any assistance. Communicate with server of any orders taken at the table. S/he will complete opening and closing checklists, generate a good atmosphere, attend daily pre-meal, and anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty.

What your background should be

The candidate should have 2 to 5 years of related experience or training. Experience in fine dining restaurant, bar or hotel preferred. S/he should have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ability to write simple correspondence.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent
