What you'll be doing
- Manages a team within the AML investigations function. Collect and examine financial statements and documents to assist in identifying unusual patterns. Follow up with additional point(s) of contact (POC) as needed to identify additional infromation in support of a case. Document and report the investigation findings and prepare case files for review (e.g., media search results, copies of statements/check, results from internal system searches, etc). Responsible for communicating with internal and external entities, members of the sales team and other company AML monitoring units. Conduct cross sector reviews among multiple company business lines. Conduct research over available bank systems, the internet and databases consistent with the resolution of investigations. Mentor junior staff members. Responsible for communication to senior management, advisory, business compliance teams, CSIS, legal and liaise with law enforcement in accordance with escalation process.
What your background should be
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in reviewing customer transactions and information for potentially suspicious activity and performing AML or financial investigations. Strong business knowledge of banking business and its products Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the bank secrecy act. Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills, and must be able to multi-task and complete projects on time. Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills. Strong research skills, advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and experience with the internet and on-line research systems. Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus.
Required Schooling / Training
- 4 year college degree or equivalent.
