What you'll be doing

Responsible for the daily execution of all brewing related tasks in accordance with client companies safety, sanitation and quality standards. This includes all brewing functions related to raw materials, brew house, fermentation, aging, cold processing and utility functions. Ownership of brew scheduling. This includes coordinating efforts of on staff brewer and physically processing beer as necessary to support production. Improve and standardize all beer processing steps by implementing an enhanced training and SOP program. Creation of innovative brewing recipes and processes; including identification and testing of new ingredients, continued development of client companies barrel aging and extreme programs, cider development, etc. Onsite support as recipes transition to and from client company. Daily collaboration with the QA manager and maintenance manager to ensure production excellence. Daily participation in sensory panel inventory management; including raw material ordering, receiving, storage and organization of dedicated areas. Proper cleaning of all brewing equipment and general sanitation of all brewing process areas in accordance with GMP. This includes general organization of the brewery operational areas. Responsible for SAP-related transactions including brewing and packaging goods and materials inventory and purchasing. Leading and mentoring of all brewer and tour staff, as needed. Safe chemical handling and inventory management. Ensuring client companies safety procedures are followed and OSHA compliance.

What your background should be

3+ years of commercial brewing experience. Demonstrated leadership abilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to prioritize and make knowledgeable decisions in a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic organization environment. Strong communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills. Demonstrated ability to be successful in a collaborative team environment. Proven analytical, problem-solving, project and time management skills. Self-starter, proactive-able to work independently and shows initiative to make things happen and improve results. Must be able to function at a high level in a dynamic environment. Able to impact and effect positive change with a flexible, open-minded, positive approach. High attention to detail. Honest and trustworthy. Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, process improvement and process control. Competent in using Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Required Schooling / Training

Formal brewing education or related degree (chemical engineering, food science, mechanical engineering, etc.).
