What you'll be doing
- Communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly, & courteously & the ability to follow the same. Recognize dangerous traffic situations & warn fellow workers in sufficient time to avoid injury. Move & maneuver quickly in order to avoid danger from errant vehicles. Control signaling devices (such as stop/slow paddle & flags) and use a 22 channel radio in order to provide clear & positive guidance to drivers approaching a temporary traffic control zone in frequently changing situations. Complete a full work shift of physical labor while standing for extended periods of time in extreme weather & limited breaks. Describe the make and model of all vehicles and communicate this to co-workers. Cooperate with job leaders and co-workers.
What your background should be
- The applicant should have reliable transportation. Possess a valid driving license. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence. Ability to communicate over the company radio. This position will require the coordination of traffic control and the safety of the vehicles.
