What you'll be doing

Work closely with product owner, stakeholders and user experience designer, to create business analysis documentation. Create test plans and scenarios, and lead the team and departmental testing of new web site requirements. Research and diagnose moderately complex software problems, recommend solutions, and determine when the programming requirements have been met. Perform this function during software development, and also when production problems are escalated from the help desk. Test software to determine if the functional requirements were met, for absence of program defects, to determine the impact of code changes on other functions, for reliability, consistency, and ease of use using test plans and/or test scripts. Utilize bug tracking application to report, track and participate in determining priority of reported defects or design issues and communicate with appropriate project team members to resolve defects. Perform administrative tasks for departmental content management system. Assist department members to resolve issues relating to the creation and maintenance of content. Develop and deliver training to training services members on features of new departmental software and web site releases. Participate as member of project development team, and in the creation of project plan tasks and timelines. Assist team lead in special projects.

What your background should be

Minimum 1-3 years of experience in business analysis and quality assurance position working in software and/or web site development. A solid understanding of quality assurance as part of the development process. Effective in driving stakeholders to decision-making process. Detail oriented and a creative and effective problem solver. Well-versed in testing methodologies. Experience with agile development a plus. Capable of working methodically, paying a lot of attention to detail, spending time planning, spending time organizing, and having the patience to remain on task until the problem is resolved. Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including managers and subject matter experts. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Familiar with relational databases, software development, web site development, HTML, CSS XML, .NET and SQL. Experience programming in at least one high level programming language. Ability to communicate effectively, including written documentation and presentation skills. Strong conceptual and analytical skills. Strong organization and planning skills. Strong collaborative skills, able to work effectively in a team environment. Experience with web 2.0 technologies and social media.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
