What you'll be doing

As a ct technician, the candidate will perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists. Prepare and position patients and selectively anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Perform ct, diagnostic and specialized radiographic procedures. Observe procedure protocols and assess procedure quality via analysis of filmed image. Ensure that ancillary staff, family members and co workers observe radiation safety procedures and perform education as needed. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted. Determine the need for equipment maintenance and report malfunctions in a timely manner. Establish an orderly and clean working environment. Assess patient and family need for education and assistance specific to imaging procedure and coordinates service. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

One year of experience as a registered radiologic technologist is required; also previous ct experience is preferred. American registry of radiologic technologist license in computed tomography (arrt ct) is preferred. American registry of radiologic technologists license in radiography (arrt r) is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date. Within one month of hire, must obtain and subsequently maintain cpr certification through the american heart association at healthcare provider level. Medical radiologic technologist general certification (tdh mrt, category g) is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma is required and associate degree in radiologic technology is preferred.
