Data Center Operations Manager

What you'll be doing: Lead a team of multi-discipline technical resources and ensures these resources are deployed effectively to support key business initiatives across multiple business units. Develops skills among the team to ensure capability exists to execute upon often complex technical project implementations. Responsible for managing, orchestrating and controlling the physical change activity that occurs within the center, including installation of new hardware, de-commissioning of obsolete hardware, harvesting of unused under-floor cables, major tech refresh activities, computer room access by 3rd party vendors, etc., all with an eye toward ensuring the ongoing operation and availability of the environment. Drive collaboration among multiple teams to negotiate/establish/understand requirements associated with key business unit initiatives involving the data center support function. Manage crisis management and recovery activities for a wide variety of unplanned events. Provide backup and support to the data center associate director.

What your background should be: 5+ years of working experience in and knowledge of physical data center operations support functions. 2+ years of experience in technical or managerial leadership within an operations environment. Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively engage/interact with all levels within the organization. Demonstrated ability to lead others (formally or informally) toward a common objective. Understanding of and proficiency in data center facilities management and compute infrastructure implementation. Excellent understanding of computer room hardware (mainframes, servers, storage devices, network switches, structured cabling for power and network).Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills. Proficient in key leadership skills and capabilities. Able to effectively engage/interact with all levels within the organization.
