What you'll be doing

The client company, equity finance it group is looking to hire a highly motivated experienced senior developer to play a key part in the expansion and further development of their mis and analytics platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for user/technical requirements, design, development, implementation, and support. The incumbent will play a critical role in building an analytics platform across securities lending & synthetics, prime brokerage businesses, which are an integral part of prime services. In particular, the applicant will be expected to be critical in the development of a new p&l consolidation, analysis, and adjustment engine/platform. This position will perform duties in technical design, architecture, and development and participating in the full system development lifecycle and deployment of new applications, perform maintenance and enhancements to existing applications, and support of new and existing applications. The candidate will be responsible for key components of the system. S/he will perform data management and transformation of large data sets. Provide technical expertise on business intelligence and data integration using etl technologies (e.g. Kettle). Implement, test, and deploy new/existing applications. Perform maintenance and enhancements to existing applications. S/he will support of new and existing applications. Candidate should note that this list is not exhaustive and duties are liable to change from time to time in line with the needs of the department. Defining data migration strategy, and analyzing interfaces. Knowledge of oracle or db2 including complex queries, ddl/dml and stored procedures. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams. This position will be required to work directly with business partners in the prime and equities organization including product development, front office, middle office operations, finance, legal and other company functional areas to deliver competitive, efficient, and scalable product solutions.

What your background should be

The ideal candidate should possess strong oop experience (e.g. Java). S/he should have excellent java development and designing skills, excellent communication and co-ordination skills both written and spoken, and strong analytical skills. S/he should possess strong working knowledge of etl tools, qlikview or similar business intelligence tools, strong oracle and ansi sql and strong knowledge of financial and insurance sector. This position should have proven experience using data integration tools and working knowledge of various warehouse methodologies, technologies, and design concepts. The candidate should have an understanding of prime brokerage. An ability to work with tight deadlines is required for success in this role. The candidate should have a positive attitude and have an ability to both lead and work well across a broader team.
