Lead Dev Ops Engineer

What you'll be doing: The client company currently looking for a lead develops engineer. This position will manage the existing production environments on public cloud environments. Work cross functionally to identify and prioritize needs. Automate everything: build, deployment mechanisms, dev/test environments. The candidate will work with engineering to enhance continuous deployment infrastructure. S/he will manage & report on up time, performance, usage, and cost of company production systems. Incumbent will take occasional participation in on-call rotation. The applicant will write code and will share of his/her own coding in areas of automation. S/he will report in Python primarily, and other languages as needed.

What your background should be: The applicant should have 3+ years of experience in OPs/dev OPs for a service used by multiple customers (SAAS product). S/he should have extensive experience with Amazon web services and other public cloud environments. S/he should have passion for writing code to solve multiple problems through automation and tools. Incumbent should have experience with deployment and configuration systems including puppet or chef. Candidate should be passionate for measuring everything and proven success in implementation of monitoring and service metrics frameworks. S/he should have strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems as well as sys admin experience. The role should have experience in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PHP, Ruby, and Perl). Some relational database knowledge; Postgres or Oracle preferred. This position should be highly developed, organized, self-motivated and have process-oriented skills for troubleshooting and problem solving. Excel in an agile and collaborative development environment. S/he should have excellent oral/written communication skills.
