What you'll be doing

Monitor off-site programs, which may require operation of a motor vehicle in a safe/secure manner at any time of the day and in varying weather and road conditions. Work under stressfully conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders who can become physically violent/verbally abusive. Conduct continuous observations of assigned work area. Accurately operate office machines. Prepare written reports/forms. Review, analyze and evaluate various document and behavioral data gathered from interviews, written documents, and personal observation. Perform crisis interventions and routine counseling to include suicide prevention. Account for supplies or equipment. Develop, implement and manage applicable correctional programs.

What your background should be

Considerable knowledge of the most recent and authoritative findings of inmate custody and rehabilitation. Ability to organize and supervise inmate activities. Ability to establish and maintain an effective relationship with inmates, inmates' relatives, professional and para-professional personnel. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
