What you'll be doing
- Provides patient care according to established nursing standards, policies and procedures. Recognizes and responds to priorities in the patient care process and communicates abnormal findings and changes in patient status to RN/LPN. Assists patients in the activities of daily living and comfort. Assists with patient assessment and planning from admission to discharge. Completes and maintains unit specific documentation; independently performs assigned duties. Acts as a client advocate and maintains client confidentiality and demonstrates effective verbal and non-verbal communication by providing emotional and supportive care for patient, family, and others.
What your background should be
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant or successful completion of a nursing assistant certification program. CPR certified; able to care for patients/clients with infectious diseases. Oral and written communication skills; able to lift up to 75 lbs, walk an average of 3 miles per shift and stand for extended periods of time.
