Private Equity/Hybrid Fund Accounting Manager

What you'll be doing

Maintains books and records of complex fund structures, fund entities, special purpose vehicles and carry plans. Responsible for financial reporting and all supporting documentation at the fund and investor levels (inclusive of financial statements, footnotes, investor level capital account statements and fund related activity). Review calculations of partner allocations and maintain waterfall models. Reviews the financial statements, capital calls and other client deliverables produced by the fund accountants. Prepares or assists fund accountants in preparation work for more difficult entities. Manages client deliverables and cultivates or maintains client relationships. Ownerships of the deliverables to clients from an end to end perspective across various functions. Partners with various internal teams (core accounting, tax, treasury, client on-boarding) and external partners (clients and auditors). Develops team members by setting objectives, providing performance feedback and participations in mentoring program. Monitors team's adherence to control procedures. Interprets fund agreements in order to determine impact on financial reporting and partners capital accounting requirements.

What your background should be

Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, preferably including public big 4 and partnership or private equity and hedge fund accounting. CPA a plus. Strong technical knowledge of complex accounting concepts, structures and investor allocations. Experience with partnership accounting or portfolio trading applications (e.g., Investran and Geneva) a plus. High level of proficiency in Excel. Superb sense of client service with ability to appropriately exercise professional skepticism and judgment. Innovative and analytical, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be extremely organized, motivated, able to multitask and take initiative to enhance processes.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in accounting.
