What you'll be doing
- Guide children to positive interactions, keep all children in sight and use child supervision records properly. Keep your classroom clean and tidy. Be aware of your surroundings and take responsibility to report or fix unsafe conditions if you find them. Use only positive child guidance techniques to instruct children. Know and follow the licensing regulations related to child care in your location. Create learning spaces that support and enhance curriculum activities. Keep classroom supplies, daily records, child information and more organized. Implement client companies curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child. Use developmentally appropriate teaching methods. Adapt your teaching style as needed for each child. Complete student assessments using classroom observations. Actively participate in parent conferences with the lead teacher or center director. Help build professional relationships with agencies and community organizations. Come to work on time and ready to give 100% every day. Work encouragingly with your team to achieve the center goals. Know which accreditation standards impact classroom activities. Welcome and engage prospective families who come for a tour. Speak to the features and benefits of companies programs. Answer parent questions. Attend professional development days, center staff meetings and any meetings outside of your regular schedule that are required by your center director. Integrate companies service values in your daily work habits and bring them to life through your actions. Continue to deepen your knowledge of companies curriculum and implement it in the classroom. Incorporate early childhood educational best practices learned through formal education, job training and experience. Share your own knowledge with assistant teacher. Learn to use the technology and systems needed for your job and be willing to learn new programs, applications, systems or devices as things change.

Required Schooling / Training
- Associate or bachelor degree in early childhood education.
