Senior Buyer-Planning and Engineering

What you'll be doing: The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department as well as determining the long term strategic direction and goals. Identify, qualify and integrate new suppliers (local and low cost regions).Monitor and manage existing suppliers (focus on quality and on-time delivery).Lead cost saving initiatives. Perform supplier visits and audits. The responsible person also order parts/components per mrp suggestions. The senior buyer will interface with planning and engineering departments in make/buy decision process. Align US supply chain strategy with global strategy. The responsible person will be offered competitive pay and benefits, as well as educational programs and re-deployment assistance.

What your background should be: The applicant is required to have a 10+ year of purchasing experience in the manufacturing of aerospace components or an equivalent from other industries (automotive, power generation, etc.). Experience with machining and fabricating operations is expected. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (metric and imperial) and familiarity with ERP systems expected. International supply chain experience desired. The applicant is expected to have outstanding analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of excel.
