What you'll be doing
- Provide a full range of services and play a key role in all phases of client engagements, from planning through final delivery to company clients. You will be an instrumental part the team and will play a critical role in growing companies business, building teams and delivering outstanding client service. You will work with clients ranging from fast-growing private companies to large international publicly traded companies, participating in projects that cover areas such as IPO preparation, technical accounting and reporting support, audit readiness, transaction services, and internal control (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance, among others. Engage with clients and colleagues on technical accounting and control-related issues, and provide research guidance and recommendations for potential solutions. Review and manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure compliance with customer requirements. Create and deliver presentations on technical concepts, project work plans, delivery approach, milestones, and results to client management and other client stakeholders. Review work of engagement teams with a detailed understanding of accounting matters and controls. Review deficiencies and formulate solutions for implementations. Review progress of team to ensure compliance with work program and professional standards. Work effectively with resources at all levels within company consulting and at clients, including across functions such as FP&A, sales, procurement, IT, tax, etc. Actively participate in the professional development of senior associates and associates. Manage client relationships with an eye toward identifying and closing on new business opportunities. Assist with business development and practice administration. Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
What your background should be
- 5 to 8 years experience in public accounting, management consulting and/or industry accounting is strongly preferred. Strong technical skills and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting is required. Proficient in fundamental accounting with experience in advanced accounting concepts such as SEC reporting, audit readiness, due diligence activities, Sarbanes-Oxley, and IFRS required. Knowledge of Tier 1 accounting packages (Oracle, SAP, and PeopleSoft) is strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and reporting processes and ability to make improvement recommendations is preferred. Entrepreneurial nature, self-motivated, ethical and dependable. High-energy with commitment to quality client service. Proven ability to lead, motivate and build teams that deliver services and solutions that surpass client expectations. Flexibility for travel.
