Student Assistant-Resident Advisor

What you'll be doing: Typical tasks include but are not limited to: live in residence hall with companies arts academy students, supervise students, enforce rules and regulations and report infractions to director. Be responsible for well-being of students to include sign-out sheets, curfew, nightly programs, etc. Assist residence life staff with check-in and check-out of participants into or out of dorm; ensure cleanliness of dorm at check-out. Conduct weekly room inspections. Attend all companies activities and trips. Operate a university vehicle to transport students. Attend daily staff meetings. Attend and assist with classes in areas of expertise or supervise and participate in recreational activities. Monitor student meals. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What your background should be: Must be a student enrolled at least 1/2 time. Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher. Direct deposit of pay is required. A background check may be required of the successful applicant. Must have a valid driving license. Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Ability to accept responsibility for decisions and personal actions. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to maintain excellent organizational skills and attention to details. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the university, community and the public. Ability to display enthusiasm for the program and its activities. Ability to act in a paraprofessional manner and model behavior consistent with the programs objectives.
