What you'll be doing
- Monitor the administration and security of medication and treatments; complete at least quarterly medication review and annual assessments; collaborate with other clinicians in the provision and monitor of medications and treatments; collaborate with other clinicians in the identification and treatment of adverse drug reactions; and ensure medication effectiveness and appropriateness for people receiving services. Assist the physician by coordinating pharmacy and therapeutics committee activities and information. Participate in interdisciplinary team activities, in the infection control committee and behavior review committee. The pharmacist will complete routine med room inspections and monitor med passes periodically to ensure compliance with regulation and nursing practice. S/he will follow established pharmacist licensing guidelines, facility policies and practices, and licensure regulations. Support the facility in full implementation of the strategic action plan and transformation plan.
What your background should be
- Experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of job skills and complete orientation and training classes. Must complete certification and license requirements as specified. Must have valid state driving license. Must maintain certification in CPR and appropriate facility based safety care training throughout employment.
Required Schooling / Training
- BA in pharmacy.
