What you'll be doing
- The job function of the Pharmacy Technician is to support health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist. It is the task of the Pharmacy Technician to maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs. In this position, the incumbent will organize medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
What your background should be
- 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma
