What you'll be doing
- Working under the supervision of a nurse, the Nurse Technician performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Serves and collects food trays. Assists with patient feeding. Provides encouragement, support and comfort to patients and family members. Performs non sterile dressing changes. Passes and collects bed pans and changes bed linens. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
What your background should be
- Previous hospital experience is required. Need Florida Certification as a Nurse Assistant. Working knowledge of medical terminology essential. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association required. Ability to quickly make decisions to report patient condition with minimal supervision.
Required Schooling / Training
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
