What you'll be doing
- The Network Administrator is responsible for handling various technology issues related to a transit environment and supporting corporate infrastructure. Accountable for providing desktop, server and network support for multiple office locations according to service level agreements (SLA). This includes but not limited, desktop and server repair, network maintenance, help desk tickets, disaster recovery and other projects as assigned. Support of analog telephone, T-1, fax and DSL lines. Responsible for supporting local technologies related to transit operations, such as; mobile data terminals (MDT), trapeze reservation software platform and orbital vehicle tracking. Manage servers at local divisions; domain controller, file, application and database. Meet and interact with city agencies providing reports and updates for local divisional office.
What your background should be
- Experience with supporting Windows XP, 7, Server 2000, 2003, 2008 and Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency with active directory, relational databases (Oracle 9i/10g preferable) and networking. Experience with VMWare, Cisco switches,routers, Inter-tell call center suite and VMS applications. The position does require travel, which can be 25% or greater at times.
