What you'll be doing

Provides general administrative and underwriting assistance to support the actives of the property and casualty underwriting staff. Serves as the initial departmental contact, performs routine transactions, expedites new policies and facilitates modifications to existing policies. Provides the outgoing insurance consultative welcome calls to clients in order to review PIA services and current coverage while identifying additional ancillary insurance coverage needs. Performs routine selection, evaluation and pricing of the least complex risks within designated authority and while adhering to the established procedures for the property & casualty book of business. Performs an underwriting review of each policy to secure the best possible coverage based on the clients business needs. Initiates insurance consultative calls to clients within established time lines to assess underwriting exposures such as changes in business, additional locations trying to determine exposure prior to policy renewal. Demonstrates knowledge of payroll generated reports and charges as they relate to all insurance products/services administered by insurance agency. Exhibits a thorough knowledge of the workers compensation payment service agreement and educates clients to ensure contract adhesion.Utilizes multiple computer software applications in conjunction with carrier and insurance bureau websites to assist in providing the most competitive pricing options from current and alternate carriers. Works as a liaison between policy holder and insurance carriers to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided. Acts as a liaison between internal company departments to provide the highest level of customer service across product lines. Initiates client contact in order to ascertain client issues and provide satisfactory resolution when a broker of record letter is received in order to maintain the client/PIA relationship. Develops and maintains working knowledge of all ancillary property and casualty insurance lines to ensure client satisfaction and retention Is informed by the supervisor and insurance partners of any statutory or industry underwriting regulatory standards affecting their duties. Acts as a customer service resource to other teams within the property & casualty business unit and the underwriting group.

What your background should be

Minimum of 4 years of experience. Previous experience in the Insurance industry, underwriting, sales or customer service or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Property and casualty license required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other business related software including carrier-quoting systems.
