What you'll be doing
- The Banking Operations Controls Office assists in driving the global control agenda and ensuring both transparency and consistency across the regional Operations Control Management Teams. The primary businesses supported include operational activities within global cash, liquidity, trade, receivables, pre-paid card, clients services and cash management. As a part of this team, close collaboration is expected with the Banking Operations Global Head of Operations Control and team of Operational Control Managers, as well as the heads of Operations to assist in the establishment of an oversight and organizational model that achieves excellence in the delivery of operational services to the clients. Key expectations are to lead various projects that support the control agenda, including user tool control program and error reporting. Additionally, this individual will assist in the creation of standards for the execution of control testing and performance of independent reviews. Sponsor consultative forums for deciding best practices in managing controls. Fostering the systematic discipline of learning lessons from audit examinations, business processes, as well as from errors. Support management in the analysis and socialization of control themes to help Global Control Managers be more effective in executing their responsibilities. Assist in the development of policies that will help strengthen the control environment. Developing and maintaining robust metrics that highlight the status of control activities/initiatives and the status of key control indicators (e.g., audit results, issue and action plan status, etc.).The Operations Control Manager will report to the head of the Banking Operations Controls Office.
What your background should be
- Proven track record in managing an audit, control, risk or project management group, experience in running an operations function, effective partnership with a diversity of senior management to drive control improvements while assisting business goals. Strong analytical and thoughtful problem solving skills. Ability to manage through a changing business landscape and externally imposed changes in agenda. Demonstrated track record of successful project management and bringing initiatives to timely closure. Strategic thinking coupled with practical execution. Anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives to ensure results. Self-starter and ability to learn quickly, sifting through significant detail to derive key points. Fair-minded, direct, diplomatic communication skills. Strong relationship management and partnership with a large array of constituents. Ability to manage by influence to promote change. Leadership with proven ability to manage and motivate staff. Ability to represent Banking Operations Controls Office Head in key senior forums including Weekly Metrics Reviews, Business Control Committees, etc. Experience in cash, trade and/or cards would be desirable. Strong financial markets product knowledge and understanding of the transaction life cycle in one or more of the key business areas above. Subject matter expertise in operational risk and controls, working knowledge of relevant regulations and standard industry processes. Prior internal audit experience is preferred. 3-5 years of experience with control analysis or related experience. Flexibility to travel, as needed, to manage a global team
