What you'll be doing

The Stroke Coordinator serves as a leader for the stroke program performance improvement initiative. This individual coordinates the clinical management of the stroke patient population across the entire continuum of care and acts as a clinical resource/ role model for all areas caring for stroke patients. The coordinator provides and/or coordinates educational activities for both staff and patients and acts as a community liaison on behalf of the program and hospital. This individual is directly involved in the marketing/promotion of services provided. Incorporated within each of these role functions, the stroke coordinator is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader and cost effective practitioner. He will lead in securing a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Certification.

What your background should be

Current licensure as an RN. Minimum of three years experience in a Neurosciences field. CNRN preferred. Critical Care or Rehab Nursing Experience preferred. Recent experience in stroke outcomes research and intervention is desirable.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelors degree in Nursing required.
