What you'll be doing
- This position is responsible for design, implement and manage a comprehensive proactive development plan focused on expanding and enhancing corporate and foundation relationships. Identify emerging business leadership and industry trends with a special emphasis on developing high value alliances and identify, evaluate, cultivate six figure (and larger) philanthropic commitments to support. Work closely with the Development team to create opportunities to build awareness among corporate and foundation constituencies in order to build and significantly expand positive fund-raising relationships. Identify key contacts within corporations/foundation and review their profiles to suggest potential relationships. Advise the Chief Development Officer on corporate and foundation areas of interest, cultivation plans and any special requirements in the development of proposals. Develop highly competitive proposals for corporate and foundation prospects. Maintain a rigorous schedule of contacts with corporate / foundation representatives, creating moves management plans related to them, compelling presentations and comprehensive fund raising proposals. Ensure that stewardship and reporting requirements met on time to sustain successful partnerships by maintaining detailed records of solicitation activities and program reporting.
What your background should be
- The ideal candidate required minimum 5 to 7 years demonstrated successful corporate or foundation fundraising experience. Knowledge of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and techniques. Demonstrated ability in grant and proposal writing for varied proposal development. Knowledge of methods, practices and procedures for obtaining information about the giving programs of corporations and foundations. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills. Ability to initiate and build relationships with prospective corporate and foundation donors, and interact with institutional representatives. Demonstrated record of success in generating significant commitments from corporations and foundations.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor Degree required. CFRE certification preferred.
