What you'll be doing
- The role will be instrumental in streamlining processes to yield quality products with a quicker time to market. Work with a talented and diverse set of teams (onshore and offshore) including software systems engineering, software development, and test. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages both individual and team accomplishments. Motivate team members to achieve company and organizational objectives. Work with internal and external teams to design, develop, and maintain company systems and services. Perform systems analysis, requirements analysis, and requirements/test traceability as it relates to broadcast software applications. Implement systems engineering techniques throughout the SDLC. Identify technical issues and potential design tradeoffs. Provide recommendations for appropriate approaches and solutions. Document technical designs in a form suitable for distribution to engineering and non-engineering audiences. Adapt and adjust quickly to a dynamic environment and take initiative to establish a direction to reach company goals. Perform cost, schedule, performance, and risk analyses. Present results to engineering and business executives. Provide engineering support for test execution and initial production deployment including interfacing with other engineering teams. Evaluate new products/technologies and assess the applicability to the company.
What your background should be
- 4 years of experience in the area of systems engineering, design, and integration. Two or more years of software development experience in object oriented languages such as Java. Understanding of software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of the organization. Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills with consistent attention to detail. Ability to clearly write technical documents. Proficiency in standard MS Office applications. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Good leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels. Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment. Ability to quickly learn and communicate value of new technologies to technical and non-technical audiences. Occasional travel may be required.
Required Schooling / Training
- BS degree in engineering. MS degree preferred.
