What you'll be doing
- The Application Architect will serve as a member of core Enterprise Architecture team. The Application Architect is essential to driving the overall flexibility and scalability of the highly complicated environment of overlapping systems across the company business functions. The Application Architect is responsible for establishing a service-oriented architecture that integrates systems across environments and will help drive the creation and adoption of a best of breed application portfolio. The Application Architect is responsible for driving adoption of enterprise architecture processes and participation in the architecture review process. Candidate will be responsible for developing long-term architectural visions and strategies to enable adoption of a simplified, efficient and modern future state. The future state will re-envision and establish a set of services focused on delivering our business functions and executing our business processes. Included in this future state will be responsive and personalized digital capabilities, robust and predictive analytics and hybrid elastic services, efficient and agile infrastructure. Simplification and creation of Omni-channel systems, functions and processes are primary opportunities for improvement in the enterprise. Critical to the role is the Application Architect ability to collaborate with and influence development teams across the enterprise.
What your background should be
- Candidate must have strong background with UNIX/Linux systems (RHEL, SLES, AIX, OEL) and technical capability. Expert knowledge and experience with application architectures and design (SOA, SOAP, REST, Gang of Four). Heavy SQL development experience (Oracle, MySQL, PostreSQL) and NoSQL technology (Cassandra, MongoDB). Demonstrated expertise with modern development languages (Java, Python, Ruby, Objective C) and frameworks (Spring, Rails, Struts) Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks and processes (TOGAF, FEA, Zachmann). Professional experience managing projects and development with agile software development methodologies, automated testing, and shared services design. Experience with cloud technologies, providers and application design considerations. Successfully able to implementing application monitoring and instrumentation to ensure reliability and enablement of CICD concepts and practices. Demonstrated knowledge of IT Security best practices and integration with application authorization and access.
