What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will provide leadership in key areas such as user interface design patterns, mentoring other software developers in presentation layer design and development, setting coding standards and participating in peer code reviews. Candidate will work with and lead project teams to help them define and implement their user interface needs. Purpose Research and development of data analysis software including design, implementation, configuration, testing, and evaluation for data mining, prediction, and content analysis software in the Signal and Information Sciences Laboratory. Essential Functions Design develops, configure, test, and integrate software to meet requirements of sponsored research projects. Prepare technical documentation and technical presentations. Communicate with project team members, supervisors, and sponsors for timely implementation of project requirements. Marginal and Incidental functions other related functions as assigned.

What your background should be

Required qualifications Bachelor's degree plus three years of demonstrated ability in computer/software engineering, computer science or other applied sciences. Demonstrate ability in object-oriented software design and development using Java. Demonstrate ability applying software engineering principles of encapsulation, modularity, maintainability, testability, usability, etc. in software design and development. Strong technical writing skills are required. Demonstrate knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments. Ability to assess and incorporate new technology into project development. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor and effectively communicate with diverse groups. Ability and desire to take on a technical leadership role and to work as a team member without regular supervision. U.S. Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree required, Master degree is preferred.
