What you'll be doing
- The Wash Rack Attendant is accountable to receive, stage,pressure/wash/steam clean and transfer incoming heavy equipment and machines; to organize, maintain and clean designated areas of the facility and to provide basic preventive maintenance support to the facility in a safe, timely, efficient and courteous manner. Position reports to the Service Supervisor.Use material handling tools and equipment (forklift) to load, secure, transfer and offload heavy equipment and freight to designated area in a manner that adheres to all required safety and quality standards. Complete shipping and receiving tickets on incoming and outgoing equipment. Inspect machines and equipment returned from rental for damage and/or excessive dirt/grime and notify supervisor accordingly. Organize, maintain and clean the equipment yard, wash rack and other assigned areas of the facility to ensure a safe and clean work environment.Complete daily forklift inspection forms. Prepare service, condition and safety reports, time cards and other related paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.Monitor levels of wash rack related cleaning supplies and chemicals and notify supervisor of need for replenishment. Assist customers with loading/unloading and safe operation of equipment. Conduct basic daily preventive maintenance on a variety of small equipment as directed. Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times. Perform related duties as may be assigned.
What your background should be
- Minimum 1 to 2 years work experience as a warehouse worker, yard attendant, utility worker or applicable industrial maintenance experience. Previous experience operating lift trucks; ability to become certified to operate a forklift.Ability to safely and effectively operate lift trucks, aerial work platforms and heavy equipment to load, secure, steam clean, transfer and offload heavy equipment and freight during a shift assignment that could last between 8 and 10 hours. Basic industrial equipment preventive maintenance skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
