What you'll be doing
- Rotates merchandise that will be for sale in the outlet and places merchandise in the proper location. Loads and unloads trucks and trailers and places merchandise in the proper location at the outlet dock. Provides good customer service with donors and the general public. Provides donors with a receipt as required. Handles merchandise safely while preserving its value. Cleans and maintains the dock and dock area, trucks, trailers and auction area. Assists in the security of company merchandise, equipment and property. Utilizes safe, appropriate operation of lift gates, floor jack, and other material handling equipment. Operates equipment in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Performs housekeeping duties such as cleaning, straightening, and sweeping, mopping, washing and dusting. when meeting the public, and provides courteous service at all times. Attends meetings and training seminars as required. Maintains acceptable attendance, personal hygiene, and dress code standards including wearing company issued name badges. Cleans up all work areas at the end of each shift. Greets every donor with good morning (afternoon) and thanks the individual for their donation. Follows all company and department policies and procedures. Demonstrates good work habits for employees and program participants, maintaining a good attitude towards the operation of the entire facility, and is a positive role model for individuals receiving rehabilitation services. Assists in other areas as requested.
What your background should be
- Must have a pleasant and friendly attitude. Ability to read and write legibly. Ability to concentrate, regardless of distractions. Ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds and be able to stand for long periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly during a shift. Ability to follow written or verbal instructions. Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends). Exposed to all weather conditions, moving trucks and forklifts and moderate noise levels. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, customers, donors and persons receiving services. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
