What you'll be doing

The Accounting Assistant position will provide competent support for the representatives of the Fund Accounting team through conducting a wide range of clerical and accounting assignments: - Post various transactions in Oracle, including manual usage entries, cost transfers and budgets. - Generate and record cash receipts as well as journal entries in Oracle in order to reclassify and record all related account transactions. - Conduct research in order to help with the reporting, review, problem solving and responding to various inquiries. - Compose reports for the Development and Institute Relations and financial services management. - Cope with a great variety of miscellaneous clerical assignments, such as data validating and file management. - Save and scan different kinds of documents into the document repository in strict accordance with the set conventions. - Work on the other tasks as assigned.

What your background should be

Required and Preferred Skills for the Accounting Assistant position: - Previous experience with Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Outlook, Word as well as solid understanding of accounting systems. - Exceptional follow up and organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. - High School degree or any equivalent + from two years of related professional experience. - Ability to work in a strict accordance with the company instructions given in either written or verbal form. - Flexibility in dealing with the most unexpected changes in approach or / and deliverables. - Ability to prioritize and manage various tasks as well as meet the toughest deadlines. - Ability to master and professionally apply all available procedures and tools. - Proven attention to the smallest details and solid focus on accomplishment and accuracy of work. - Ability to work with 0% of supervision, to identify priorities among the competing standards independently, and comply with the deadline demands. - Prior experience with Cognos and Oracle. - Self-starter, motivated, with demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. - Experience with Excel advanced functions. - Awareness of and ability to apply all accounting principles.
