What you'll be doing

Assist in planning, organizing, developing and implementing the resident activity programs of the facility. Assist in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services. Decorate monthly bulletin boards indicating future activities, holiday themes, and picture review of past activities. Participate in group activities to ensure maximum involvement by interested residents. Assist in coordination of activity schedules with other departments as necessary. Arrange transportation for field trips as requested. Help read incoming mail, address and post outgoing mail upon the resident request. Perform daily, weekly and monthly duties as described on attached addendum. Develop and maintain a good rapport with all services involved with the care plan to ensure that a team effort is achieved in developing a comprehensive plan of care. Assist in curriculum planning as needed.

What your background should be

Must have a minimum of six (6) months of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years preferably within a health care setting. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or GED.
