What you'll be doing
- Under general supervision from the HR manager, assist in the development, implementation of HR related practices, processes, and operational procedures for administrative services provided to the departments. Provide research and analyze a variety of HR issues, and recommend solutions. Act as a liaison between the divisions, campus HR and departments for routine coordination issues. Sit at a computer terminal and/or desk for extended periods of time. Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions. Work occasional overtime and on short notice.
What your background should be
- Experience working in a human resources environment in large complex organization which includes employee and labor relations, recruitment, classification, compensation, benefits. Knowledge of human resources practices, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to employment, wage and hour (compensation), employee relations, employee benefits, employee health, affirmative action/equal opportunity, employee development and other human resources functions. Experience working in a customer service driven environment and customer service skills to meet customer/client expectations with an emphasis on quality, quantity and timeliness of work. Skill to develop and assist with preparation and review of complex position descriptions, requisition listings, and recruitment advertisements. Problem solving skills to define and analyze complex issues and to independently develop and implement solutions. Experience using software such as Word, Excel, e-mail, calendar, and other computer programs to produce documents, forms, reports and spreadsheets.
