What you'll be doing
- The client company is seeking for an assistant counsel. Principle responsibility will be in the area of technology transfer and licensing, including negotiation and review of contracts relating to the intellectual property interests of the company. The candidate will support all five campuses and will travel as needed to company locations. The assistant counsel will be one of two attorneys responsible for this function. This position will work closely with leadership and staff of commercial ventures and intellectual property and the office of technology management.
What your background should be
- The ideal candidate should have 2 to 3 years of experience in general corporate practice with exposure to intellectual property matters. S/he should have membership in or eligibility for membership in the massachusetts bar. Incumbent should have strong academic credentials and excellent analytical, research, writing, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Training in a law firm and experience in higher education are helpful.
Required Schooling / Training
- Law degree from an accredited law school
