Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures. Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the delicatessen provides. Responsibles for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the delicatessen. Confirms pricing accuracy and signages for all products, pays particular attention to ad items. Ensures the delicatessen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance. Delivers excellent customer services to all customers. Performs the following duties alongside the delicatessen manager or in the delicatessen managers absence. Orders product and creates production sheets to meet the needs of the delicatessen based on past and projected sales. Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner. Sets a professional and positive examples to others. Communicates openly and frequently with store director, delicatessen manager and director of delicatessen operations. Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Writes the delicatessen schedule to ensures coverage and meets labor goals. Teaches, mentors and educates associates to help them be successful member of the team. Provides honest, direct and constant feedback to associates regarding their performances and areas of improvement. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
What your background should be
1 year of delicatessen experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must enjoy working with and handling delicatessen products. Should have a passion for preparing and eating food particularly delicatessen items. Basic math skills used to half or double recipes. Ability to interpret policies and procedures. Excellent organization and planning skills. Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people. Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques. Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission driven, and be self directed with a demonstrated passion for company mission and commitment to working collaboratively. Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused and consistent.
Required Schooling / Training
High school diploma or GED and some college education are preferred.
