What you'll be doing

Prepares patient for x-ray examination, explains procedure to patient, questions female patients regarding possible pregnancy, transfers patient to examination table, positions patient, makes pre-determined exposure according to technique guide recommendations as well as job knowledge and good radiologic practices, and assists patient at end of procedure. Adjusts equipment; determines proper voltage, current and desired exposure time. Arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain and maintain proper patient positioning. Adjusts lead protective shielding where applicable, and applies beam collimation to limit primary beam to the field of interest. Observes patient and radiographic unit during procedure, reports unusual occurrences and records patient's condition when appropriate. Records all information pertaining to the examination performed in the patients EMR, department log sheets or logbooks.

What your background should be

2 years experience as a technologist (radiographic/computerized tomography). Must have good communication skills. Basic computer skills. Multitasking ability must.
