Associate Underwriter

What you'll be doing: Review and issue policies which require further underwriting due to rules and guidelines which are not automatically issued by reviewing reports and queues. Review reports for documentation needed to complete application, validate rating, or qualify risk. Review will include deciding appropriate underwriting action based on authority level and underwriting guidelines. If outside of standard authority level, will refer to an underwriter. Process endorsements requiring special handling, such as out of sequence or require underwriting review/authority. Review and calculate premiums for endorsements in which a credit is requested for transactions that are out of sequence. Process endorsements in which the contact center, branch office or sales agent cannot process due to authority level or system issues. Ensure these transactions are rated correctly, credit applied is accurate and appropriate documentation is obtained.

What your background should be: The applicant should have experience in related field. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently. Intermediate in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Intermediate mathematical skills required to analyze, calculate and verify proper premiums. Organization/time management skills; interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt to change quickly. Demonstrate decision making ability under established guidelines/letter of authority.
