What you'll be doing
- Oversees the proper installation, repair and maintenance of all hotel equipment, including but not limited to heating, air conditioning, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers and plumbing. Ensures swimming pool and spa maintenance duties are preformed according to manufacturer specifications and local health department regulations. Develops, coordinates, and monitors a maintenance program to ensure the safety, security and comfort of staff and guests. Ensures an aggressive attitude among team members. Maintains a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders. Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner. Willingness and ability to run errands to hardware store for maintenance supplies, cleaning supplies, or other items. Performs other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- Minimum four years of experience in engineering is preferred. Experience in a hotel environment preferred. Must obtain and maintain any licenses or certificates as required by law. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Knowledge of machines, computers, tools and other equipment, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma or equivalent
