Building Maintenance Worker

What you'll be doing: Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles. Performs routine grounds keeping work to ensure the beautification of the landscape. Performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work. Performs preventative maintenance of company vehicles. Monitors and replenishes all fluid levels. Maintains the grounds to include mowing grass, trimming hedges, blowing leaves, and collecting debris; maintains the beautification of the grounds. Sweeps, vacuums, strips, mops and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks. Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc. Monitors activities and visitors of building and grounds to ensure security. Drives truck in order to pick up materials and repair items needed for maintenance work. Cleans surroundings after each repair job; ensures that all tools are collected and surroundings are left neat and clean. Monitors lighting and changes light bulbs when needed. Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to the maintenance department. Drives company vehicle to pick up materials, supplies, donations, mail, and the like. Assists in cleaning the kitchen and dining area, bathrooms, and other building areas. Performs other related work as required.

What your background should be: Two years experience performing maintenance work in a general maintenance environment. Knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures. Ability to learn by method of on-the-job training including ability to follow instructions. Ability to perform routine and minor repair and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds. Ability to use and maintain maintenance equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner.
