What you'll be doing

Review incoming orders for assigned products to assure correct assemblies are scheduled or purchased. Forecasting demand on a regular basis to company suppliers. Run make or buy reports on a daily basis, take appropriate actions. Analyze planned stock transaction reports to assure that supply matches demand, where supply does not meet demand, expedite or delay receipt. Forecast expected consumption on a regular basis to company suppliers to insure have product available when needed. Maintain accurate production order and purchase order dates in MRP. Review order acknowledgements from suppliers and update purchase order dates accordingly. Work closely with procurement team to identify any material shortages that could affect planned production. Communicate any delays in material receipts and or planned production. Set plans in place to resolve delays. Coordinate shortages with manufacturing team and make decisions on whether to start a build with the shortage or not. Lead production meetings. Analyze current schedule to determine labor and lead-time requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers to obtain reliable and on time order status and delivery date schedules that will support company commitment to the customer.

What your background should be

Minimum 3 years of working experience in any of the following fields: inventory, planning, scheduling, expediting, or purchasing. Knowledge of ERP system as well as basic computer usage (Windows, MS Office, Outlook and internet). Advanced Excel skill is an advantage but not required. Previous experience with Oracle or SAP is desired.

Required Schooling / Training

BA or BS degree.
