What you'll be doing

Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistant with the mission, vision and values of the client company, Diocese of Cleveland. Participate in the planning and implementation of the leadership camp program. Plan and coordinate the implementation of lessons, activities and functions during the LC program, including keynote speakers, service projects, life skills training programs, camp duties, field trips and other activities. Communicate camper actions (recommend for hire, etc.) via evaluations. Assist in development of and participate in camp staff training and weekly meetings. Supervise completion of all program documentation including relevant incident reports. Communicate with parents as necessary. Recruit, train and utilize volunteers as directed. Recommend orders for supplies and equipment. Ensure that all American Camping Association (ACA) Standards and all local, state and federal guidelines are being met. Ensure camper safety is a priority during all activities. Ensure that proper procedures/risk management plans are followed. Sleep in cabins, clean, prepare meals, manage equipment, attend mass and prayer services as needed to support the program.

What your background should be

Previous experience working with teenaged children and leadership or supervisory role preferred. Must have a valid Ohio driving license, provide a copy of driving license and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the department of motor vehicles annually. Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in recreation, education or related field.
