What you'll be doing

Perform and assist with spirometry testing ensuring accuracy, reliability, repeatability and ATS quality standard obtain. Perform 12-lead ECG with EKG lead application, holter monitoring and event recorder monitoring procedure. Use computer skill to access and work with patient data in diagnostic testing database in pulmonary physiology and cardiology to ensure quality of spirometry for processing and non invasive cardiology procedure. Perform oximetry walk or O2 testing per policy, reporting result appropriately and escorting patient to the appropriate area for oxygen setup. Process clinic spirometry for billing and interpretation purpose. Quality review all clinic spirometry process and spirometry billing for interpretation purpose. Perform exhaled nitric oxide testing and enter reportable result into the clinical lab computer system in a timely manner for both adult and pediatric testing area. Perform body plethysmography and DLCO testing under direct supervision. Responsible for ensuring accuracy, reliability, reproducibility and ATS quality standard are met. Clean body plethysmograph and spirometer, including pneumotach to ensure uninterrupted service. Accurately obtain and record patient height and weight. Monitor and stock adequate supply for testing procedure in pulmonary laboratory to ensure uninterrupted service. Analyze arterial blood sample. Answer, screen and route phone call, which include taking message. Obtain patient chart as requested. Perform all other duties as assigned to include proactively using downtime to enhance department productivity.

Customer service knowledge, skill and ability by participating in department and institution wide specific programs. Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Good command of the English language, both written and verbal. Able to use computer skills. Able to complete client companies spirometry course and a competency evaluation for spirometry.
