What you'll be doing
- Manages and monitors assigned client case load; develops program plan/goals and evaluates clients progress by conducting routine meetings with client and/or staff; serves as advocate for client in order to acquire services that will enable them to functionally cope with their environment. Case manager in providing social service assistance to eligible clients in the following areas: food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance; prepares accurate and complete client records; receives, sorts, stores and distributes food and clothing items; maintains the orderliness and cleanliness of the food pantry area, clothing closet, and social service office; assists in referring clients to community agencies and maintains effective working relationships with the same; ensures compliance with program policies and procedures.
What your background should be
- Two years of experience as a case manager, preferably with the homeless and/or veteran population. Valid Texas driving license. Licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC) preferred.
Required Schooling / Training
- Masters degree from an accredited college or university in social work, behavioral science, or a related field.
