What you'll be doing
- Work with campus staff to establish and support energy projects at the campus level. Assist energy manager with monitoring and analyzing energy consumption and costs. Monitor campus metering and energy monitoring programs, HVAC systems, lighting & plug loads. Identify funding opportunities/grants. Coordinate energy retrofit projects and energy audits. Coordinate utilities baseline analysis. Work with energy manager to establish effective standards and procedures for the operation of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensuring comfortable and efficient indoor environments. Plan, organize, coordinate and evaluate the solid waste and recycling program district wide. Develop and implement education programs for organizational awareness and participation. Audit facility waste management activities to ensure district-wide compliance. Assist with procurement of waste management contract to include research and development of specifications, contract analysis and monitoring, and contract evaluation. Initiate contact with campuses and department managers to identify and resolve waste management issues. Review waste container locations to ensure safe and efficient collection of solid waste and recyclables. Assist with projects within established goals. Provide communication and correspondence to administrators, principals and applicable personnel. Maintain good public relations and communications with co-workers, principals, department heads and community. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- Five years of experience in a directly related field. Effective interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of employees and staff members. Knowledge of Food Services waste disposal control and treatment. Knowledge and skills in recycling initiatives and procedures. Skills in ASHRAE Level I and II Audits. Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Efficiency Standards, ASHRAE 62 Indoor Air Quality Standards and ASHRAE 55 Thermal Comfort Standards.ť Knowledge of DOE Energy Star Programs associated with K-12. Written and oral communication skills as required for planning and inspecting HVAC systems performance. Public relations and communication skills. Skills in accurate records/database management. Skills in computerized Work Order Tracking System.
Required Schooling / Training
- Associate Degree in Science, Business Management or Engineering.
