What you'll be doing
- Accurately prepare and perform diagnostic testing such as venipuncture, EKGS, urine dipstick, etc. Administer all medications as ordered and assure all documentation noted, as well as controlled substances, insulin and allergy doses that must be checked by LPN, RN or doctor. Provide accurate and timely EKG, assure documentation, and prompt transmission of test, if applicable. Communicate effectively with customers (patients, physicians, and other health first associates) practicing excellent customer relation skills at all times while organizing and directing daily medical assistant functions. Ensure that all exam rooms and equipment are stocked, cleaned, and ready for the next patient. Utilize supplies/equipment in a proficient and cost effective manner when performing various procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
What your background should be
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with certification from one of the agencies: AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), AMT (American Medical Technologists), NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing), NHA (National Health Career Association). Must hold current AHA BLS health care provider completion card prior to start date and maintain.
Required Schooling / Training
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent.
